We carry out full customs clearance: we calculate the duty and the recycling fee, issue the electronic vehicle passport (ePTS), and go through lab testing and broker procedures. Since 1 August 2023 a car has been cleared in the name of its end owner for personal use — you become its first owner in Russia.
We also help with registration at the traffic police (GIBDD): we prepare the documents and explain the order of steps. In other destination countries registration is handled by the local authority — we will guide you through that too.
The bulk of our clearances are for import into Russia. If the car is going to a client in Belarus, Kazakhstan or another CIS country, the route and the clearance procedure are agreed before purchase — both the documents and the timings depend on them.

What we take on

Customs clearance and registration by country of import
Russia
The main jurisdiction for the calculation: duty under the single rate table, the recycling fee based on power output in horsepower, lab testing and the SBKTS, and the electronic vehicle passport. Since 1 August 2023 a car has been cleared in the name of its end owner for personal use.
Belarus
An EAEU country: there is no customs border between the members of the union, and clearance follows union rules. The duty and recycling-fee rates for Belarus are confirmed with our broker before purchase — they cannot be worked out from the Russian table, the figures are different.
Kazakhstan
An EAEU country. Besides duties, a separate first-registration levy is payable at registration: it is paid in advance and calculated in MRP units. The rates for Kazakhstan are confirmed with our broker before purchase.
Armenia
An EAEU country. Registration is handled by the road police of the republic. State fees there are revised from time to time, so we take them from our broker on the date of the application rather than from last year’s table.
Uzbekistan
Not an EAEU member: duty and excise duty are calculated under Uzbek rules, with none of the union reliefs. The registration fee is calculated in base accounting units and depends on the type of vehicle.
Georgia
Not an EAEU member. Our logistics hub in Poti is here too, so the car often arrives from the hub under its own power. Registration is handled by the Service Agency of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Azerbaijan
Not an EAEU member. Registration is handled by the State Road Police and takes 10 days. State fee amounts are confirmed with our broker.
Duty and recycling-fee amounts outside Russia are calculated separately: we confirm the rates for each country with our broker before purchase rather than carrying the Russian ones across — the figures are different. Account separately for the surcharge on import through EAEU countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan) that applies from 1 April 2026: the difference in duty, VAT and excise duty is added to the Russian recycling fee. Your manager will give the exact amount for your car once a specific option has been chosen.

A calculation for the specific car
We calculate the duty and the recycling fee from the age, engine capacity and power output before the car is bought.
Collecting the documents
We prepare the export documents, the invoice and the contract — the package customs will accept.
Arrival at the warehouse
The car arrives at a temporary storage warehouse and we file the declaration.
Lab testing and the SBKTS
We go through lab testing and obtain the vehicle safety certificate.
Paying the charges
We pay the duty and the recycling fee and close the declaration.
ePTS and registration
We issue the electronic vehicle passport and explain the registration procedure. For Belarus and Kazakhstan the procedure is agreed separately.
