An OSAGO policy is needed before registration: without it the car will not be registered. We arrange it through our partner insurers as soon as the electronic vehicle passport (ePTS) has been issued, so that a finished car is not left standing over a paperwork formality.
When you buy a new car we give you the 1-year OSAGO policy. KASKO we arrange on request — in both cases the rates are set by the insurance company.
For clients from Belarus and Kazakhstan the policy is arranged under the rules of the country of registration: we will explain the procedure and prepare the documents needed for it.

What the compulsory policy is called in different countries
Russia
The policy is needed before registration — without it the traffic police (GIBDD) will not register the car. Voluntary KASKO cover is arranged separately and on request.
OSAGO
Belarus
Known colloquially as “avtograzhdanka”. It is compulsory for the car to be allowed on the road; voluntary KASKO exists as a separate product.

Kazakhstan
Compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners. It is issued in the owner’s name and checked at registration.
OGPO VTS
Armenia
Compulsory liability insurance for vehicle owners. The equivalent of OSAGO, but the policy is Armenian — a Russian one is not valid here.
APOO (ԱՊՊԱ)
Uzbekistan
Arranged with local insurers in the name of the car’s owner. The rate depends on the type of vehicle and the region.

Compulsory civil liability insurance for owners of motor vehicles. Arranged with local insurers.

“OSAGO” is the Russian name. In other countries the compulsory policy is called something else and is arranged with local insurers: a Russian policy is not valid abroad, just as a local one is not valid in Russia. Requirements and rates change, so we confirm the procedure on the date of arrangement with our insurance partner in the country of registration rather than taking it from last year’s note.
